WHAT WE DO:

Freewheel is creating the technology platform for the future of online video advertising. It will enable both owners of video content and video distributors to grow and monetize their online audience through online video advertising. As increased online content selection and control shifts to consumers, the result is a drastic increase in complexity of management and control by the content owners and distributors. Our system solves this pressing need which is not being served by any of the existing advertising management systems.

Based on deep research with multiple players in the industry, we have great confidence that we are filling a core business need and have the opportunity to change the way online video advertising is conducted. We anticipate that we will see rapid growth due to the unique nature of our solution and benefit by growth of the overall online video marketplace.

Freewheel is led by three veterans of online advertising who have a wealth of experience from key senior management positions at DoubleClick, VisibleWorld, Yahoo and large advertising agencies:

We have partnered with Battery Ventures, which has provided our funding. We work closely with Roger Lee and Satya Patel, who are actively involved in our business.

WHO WE DO IT FOR:

Our system meets the needs of Online Content Owners (for example, CBS, Fox, SciFi.com, etc.), Content Distributors (for example, Veoh, MySpace, YouTube, etc.), and Retail Distributors (for example, Blockbuster, iTunes, Netflix, etc.).

WHY WE DO IT:

We believe that online video distribution has the potential to beat television at its own game over the next decade. By enabling the players in online video to monetize and grow their audiences, we can shape an industry that is on the bleeding edge of change. Freewheel has the potential to be a powerful force for change in this industry and we are building the infrastructure to make this happen.

Doug, Jon and Diane are building a team of the best and brightest in the U.S. and China. We are building a company from the ground up that will create huge success for our customers, our investors, and our employees.
